I’ve mentioned several times in the past that I have OFS in different parts of the Philippines, and several of them, including Joven, my first OFS, live in Davao City.
Due to nonstop rains, several areas in Mindanao, including Davao City and Iligan, had floods starting on November 8.
Some of the affected areas are still flooded in the morning, and there are reports of places that have lost power and internet, but repairs will have to wait because of how much the floods have affected them.
If your OFS is from Davao City or somewhere else in Mindanao, which has been experiencing a lot of rain lately, check up on them and see if they are OK.
Then, pay attention to how fast they recover from this. The Filipino people are amazingly resilient and resourceful.

Hi John,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inquire about how I can donate to help those affected by the recent floods in Mindanao, Philippines. Please let me know if there are any organizations or relief efforts that you recommend.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
Venar G. Bataller
Hi Venar!
My name is Julia, I’m one of John’s VAs and I am based in Mindanao. Thank you so much for your concern! Most of us have bounced back and the rest are on the way to getting back to normal. The weather has improved so most of the flooding has subsided.
If you want to help those still affected, you can visit the Philippine Red Cross website for information: https://redcross.org.ph/
