What a typhoon feels like for your Filipino VA
Many of us are fortunate to have never experienced a terrifying natural disaster.
But for Filipinos who go through it 20 times a year, even though they’re used to it, it can still be scary.
Henny (a small business owner with VAs working for them) wanted to know what it was like and asked their VA:
Hello John
Together with my Philippine VA we work on a site for parents. I asked her to write about her experience.
From my point of view she wrote this very touching story. https://www.piipple.com/en/parenting-through-the-storm/

What Rohaina wrote is definitely worth reading.
Parenting, in the best of circumstances, is hard enough.
Parenting while going through something scary is so much more challenging. It’s not easy to show love and courage when you’re terrified. It’s heartbreaking to hold on to hope when the world around you feels so hopeless.
But it’s something that Filipinos learn to live with. It’s what they teach their children during typhoons, earthquakes, floods, and similar disasters.
This, too, shall pass. We are strong. We can rebuild because we have each other.
Why is this relevant to you?
1. Filipinos are resilient. Resiliency is a great quality in independent contractor staff.
2. The story is real. It’s human. It’s good to recognize how human the people you’re working with are. Yes, they live thousands of miles away…but they’re still human just like you.
Nothing to sell her. Just education.
John
