One of the best new features we’ve introduced by far at Onlinejobs.ph is Apply Points.

I use it whenever I hire someone. It’s taken so much guesswork out of who to interview. It’s easy to use and makes so much sense.

Here’s how:

In your job post, somewhere near the bottom, include this:

“When applying, use X Apply Points”

Replace X with somewhere between 5-15. The higher you go, the fewer applicants you’ll get.
Then, when you get applicants, anyone who didn’t use the number of AP you specified, you can ignore their application.

Recently I made a job post for a PHP programmer. I got like 20 applications. Of those 20, I got like 7 who used my number of apply points.  Every one of them was a highly qualified developer, years of experience, and experience with exactly what I wanted.
The other 13? I don’t know…I didn’t even look at their applications.

By the way, I’m not the only one who thinks this. I just got this email from Matt, who has the same experience.

Hi John:

I am a returning Onlinejobs.ph US-based employer searching for the right Webflow developer.

I can attest to how GOOD your OneVAAway series is, and how it has helped us have a 100% success rate when hiring an OFS.

I noticed with our most recent search the addition of the Apply Points. Once I understood how they worked, I realized how brilliantly simple they are…… and how the AP points separate the wheat from the chaff. A great addition to the process….

Thanks for all you do!

Matt

I explain a bit about how I (and Matt) use Apply Points in my top 6 OFS hiring tips. But you’ll learn more through One VA Away.
