One of the things I’m super thankful for this year is our AI matching tool. (https://www.onlinejobs.ph/tellmewhotohire) It works really well and we’ve got a lot of good feedback about it.
– AI is amazing
– DON’T use it for everything (don’t have it think for you)
– AI for weeding out hiring candidates (processing tons of varied information) is one of the best use cases for AI.
That said, I think your instincts and intuition as a business owner will still be the best tools for hiring the right Filipino virtual assistant for your business.
AI is great at weeding out bad applicants.
AI is great at finding great applicants.
It’s great at telling you who to interview.
Heck, it’s even great at telling you what to ask in the interview.
But you have to interview. You can’t really know someone unless you communicate with them.
Your gut instinct is still better than AI.
Sometimes it’s the small talk that tells you whether this person is young and hungry or just going through the motions of applying for another job.
Sometimes it’s a small red flag that was nowhere in the application.
Sometimes it’s a little above and beyond with every communication from a single applicant. Yes! That’s the one!
AI can’t feel these things.
So here’s how to approach hiring in 2026.
– Write a job post.
– Use AI Matching (built in to your OnlineJobs.ph account)
– Only look at the ones it tells you are the top candidates.
– Email interview (ask them the questions the AI tells you to ask).
– Video interview only the best ones.
– Hire who feels right.
You’re hiring a person, not a skill. AI is good at evaluating skills. You’re good at people.
