The worst time to hire an OFS is the last couple of months of the year. And, more specifically, the last couple weeks of the year.
Why?
The last two months of the year have back-to-back holidays, which can leave Filipinos worried about whether they’ll have time off if they start a new job.
Many Filipinos are also reluctant to leave their jobs at this time because they want to make sure they’ll receive their salary (and 13th month, for those who have it). This would be harder to do if they quit their jobs before the year ends.
Lastly, starting a new job is always scary for Filipinos. They’re not 100% certain they’ll actually get paid in time for holidays.
Quite the risk to take at Christmas.
The best time to hire is starting in January.
This is when many Filipinos with traditional office jobs would quit the office to explore online work. We see a large uptick in Onlinejobs.ph jobseeker registrations around that time.
What I often do is write my job post now. Then I’ll post it January 2. I get TONS of applicants.
