You are (or are about to be) a life saver.

I got an email last week from someone in the Philippines who described to me how her boss had saved her life by giving her a job.

My team pointed out to me something I didn’t realize:

Filipinos look at online boss’ as life savers.

I’ll explain.

In the Philippines, THE STAKES ARE HIGH!

Most people are barely scraping by. And by barely, I mean if they’re eating 3 times/day they’re better than most.

There are no government programs to help those who are struggling.
If you struggle, you don’t eat.

The economy of the Philippines just doesn’t have a lot of jobs.
And yet, they’re super highly educated. College degrees.

It’s not like in the US where if you want to work, you can find a job and work.  Often in the Philippines, if you want to work you have to leave your home and go live elsewhere, far away from home, to find work.

It’s even more difficult for Filipinos to find a job that lets them make a lot of money while working from home; work that lets them spend time with their families.

Online work is quickly becoming the Filipino dream.

For many Filipinos, a 2-hour commute to work is typical.
It’s not unusual to move away from your family and only see them every few weeks, every few months, every few years, to keep a job that barely pays enough.

For your OFS, the work that you give them is their dream job.

With your OFS, when you work with them, train them, pay them well, treat them well, and embed them into your business to the point that they just run on their own, the chances of them leaving are slim. They have a dream job!

For the OFS, the more they invest their time and skills in your business, the better they get paid, and the better their lives will be. It’s a dream!

Now, I know some of you are nodding your head and saying “Yep, I totally agree, that’s the experience I’ve had with my OFS.”

For any of you shaking your heads, saying “I’ve had a different experience”, please go back 3 paragraphs.

In order to have this be a dream for them, and for you to be a life saver, you have to treat them well. You have to bring them into your business. Treat them like they’re going to work for you long-term. Train them. Care for them. Care about them. Pay them well. Have realistic expectations. Help them succeed.

They can be everything you ever hoped for, but you have to be great to them.

For those of you nodding your heads, you know what I’m talking about. You know what you do to care for your people. You recognize that you’ve created a dream job for the people who work for you.
If you know, you know.

If you don’t know…you haven’t yet hired someone, please respond to this and let me know why.
