One of the great things about having an OFS is you start seeing more tasks that you can delegate.

Some of these tasks can be odd jobs or one-off tasks that you’re not sure whether you can give to your OFS.

Stuff like:
– Editing vacation videos
– Designing a logo for your child’s sports team
– Cancelling a subscription box
– Writing a short description for your neighborhood Facebook page

These are things you know they can do, but they’re not part of the business. Stuff that you know you want to do but don’t have the time and energy (or willingness) for.

Can you give this task to your OFS? Yeah.

All you have to do is ask. If it’s easy enough, most don’t mind.

I’ve asked my OFS team to do odd jobs and one-off tasks for me over the years. When I was looking for a graphic designer, I had them design jerseys for my kids’ racing team. I had one of them research Harry Potter gift ideas. Some helped my kids start their businesses years ago by writing product descriptions.

Best case scenario, they say yes, and you have one more thing off your plate.

Worst case scenario, they say no but this rarely happens. If it’s something they can do, your OFS will do it because they want to make you happy.

Any time there’s something that has the potential to take more than a few minutes, or the potential to frustrate me, I first assign it to an OFS.

If they can’t do it, I might help them do it, or I might do it myself.  Usually they do it, and if they don’t, they’ve made it easier for me to do.
