Tommy sent me an email asking:
Is it possible to have a profit sharing method rather than an hourly wage?
Someone else asked:
“Can I hire an OFS on a commission basis instead of a monthly salary?”
To be honest, it’s hard to find OFS who would be into profit-sharing or commission-only work. On top of that, Onlinejobs.ph does not allow purely commission-based job offers.
2 things happening here.
First, commission only jobs is a breeding ground for scammers. We’ve experienced it. We don’t allow it.
Second, most OFS are family breadwinners. They can’t afford to wait for a business to be profitable before they get their share or earn a commission.
If they wanted to partner in a business, they wouldn’t be making an account in Onlinejobs.ph in the first place. They would be building their own business and finding partners on their own.
I understand why some of you would want to have this arrangement instead. Maybe your business isn’t profitable yet, but you need help because you’re doing a lot of work.
One thing you can do, if you’re worried about the expense, is to hire someone part-time or on an hourly basis to start. That way, you can get stuff off your plate and focus on making your business profitable.
Once you do that, it won’t be long before your business becomes profitable.
There is a partial exception to this.
Sales people.
Closers, appointment setters…
A lot of these people want to work on commission because if they’re good at it, they’ll make a lot more money.
Not many of them can wait months for the commissions to start coming in before getting paid. They need a salary, too.

This was a good read. Was planning on doing this for my org. A hybrid of base + commission
