It’s October, so I’m giving you your yearly reminder to start preparing for your OFS’ 13th month.
You don’t need to give the 13th month now, but ideally, you should give it before the year ends. We pay it at the beginning of December.
Preparing for it now helps avoid surprises, so your OFS don’t message you about their 13th month while you’re on holiday.
Remember that the 13th month is NOT a Christmas bonus. It’s also not required (unless you’ve explicitly agreed to it before).
Many Filipinos depend on it, and it’s a nice way to keep them motivated. So, if you have the funds for it, I highly recommend giving the 13th month as a benefit.
The easiest way to compute for the 13th month is to add up how much you paid them this year and divide it by 12. That’s it.
Whether they worked the entire year or only six months, it’s the same math for the 13th month.
