It’s maddening to get applications to your job post from people who are unqualified.
I hate it.
It has always been a problem.
Until about a year ago.
Enter: Apply Points (AP)
This took us years to come up with but it works SO WELL!
Here’s what happens.
– A worker is desperate for a job
– They find OnlineJobs.ph
– They create a profile
– They don’t really know what they’re doing, they just think the more they apply, the more chances they have of getting a job.
– They send applications to every job post they can find.
– They’re UNQUALIFIED for almost all of them.
– You’re frustrated because you’re getting crappy applicants.
How Apply Points solves this
– Workers are allotted 10 Apply Points (AP) per day.
– When they apply, they must decide how many AP to use on that application
– Someone spamming job posts has no choice but to use 1 AP on every application
DON’T LOOK AT APPLICANTS USING 1 APPLY POINT!
Simple.
Workers who feel like they’re qualified for the job almost always use more than 1AP.
A (not so) secret tip I’ve been using
When posting a job, as part of the job instructions I ask them to use a certain number of apply points.
“How to apply:
Send your application through the OnlineJobs.ph system.
Use 4 Apply Points when applying.
Make the subject of your application “role name – [your name here]”
Then anyone who doesn’t follow both directions, you don’t open their application.
Even better?
“Use 28 divided by 7 Apply Points when applying”
Makes them think!
I’ve never had such an easy time finding the great applicants as since we implemented the Apply Points system at OnlineJobs.ph.
