Milo is 19 and has been using OFS for a few years now.

His insight (underlined toward the end) to why this works for him is helpful to all employers:

———-
I have long utilized the expertise of my remote team, Offshore Filipino Specialists (OFS), for various digital activities, including website development. Recently, I had a remarkable experience that I’d like to share. A client of mine, involved in a political campaign, requested a sleek and responsive website for both mobile and desktop platforms.

Since it had been some time since I had worked on a campaign website, I decided to research top digital vendors by examining campaign expense reports. I visited their websites and studied their award-winning designs.

I then tasked my OFS team with replicating one of those award-winning websites, incorporating at least three major changes to ensure compliance with applicable copying laws. Within days, I had a fully functional website ready for my client. The client was thrilled with the value they received, paying me less than $1,000 for a website that a firm would typically charge $8,000 for, in addition to substantial monthly management fees.

How was I able to unlock such immense value with my OFS team for myself and client? I attribute it to three key tips:

Your OFS team members seek stability and clarity.
They desire full-time, stable online employment and take pride in having a Western employer. Clarity is paramount; they want explicit direction and training on what is expected of them. I provide video recordings with verbal instructions and bullet points to ensure clear communication. An OFS team member has never admonished me for being too clear.

I don’t treat my OFS team as mere subordinates.
I get them excited about the critical nature of the work and avoid being arrogant, rude, or acting as if I have a minion overseas. I firmly believe in Brian Tracy’s management style, which you can listen to on the “Manage Smarter” podcast: https://salesfuel.com/005-brian-tracy-setting-up-your-business-for-managerial-success/

I share the wealth.
For the $1,000 website project, I provided an additional $50 bonus on top of their regular salary and benefits, such as the Pag-IBIG Fund and health insurance allotment. The Filipino people like to feel pride in their work and having a bonus even a small under $100 additional pay can help them feel appreciated.
____________

– Provide stability
– Treat as equals
– Share the wealth

Hmmm…seems like Milo is a good boss recognizing the situation people anywhere in the world want.

Well done, Milo!
