My day-to-day work is looking at the big picture of our business.
The decisions we’re making.
The problems we’re facing and the solutions we’re coming up with to solve them.
Are these taking us in the right direction?
Then I point people in the right direction which can be simple reminders, feedback, resources, or helping my OFS team develop solutions.
When I hired my first VA in the Philippines, I hadn’t considered “being the CEO”.
I hadn’t even thought about looking at the big picture. There were too many weeds in my face to even think about it.
You may be in the same position I was.
When you’re hiring, you’re hiring someone to do just one task. Get one thing off our plate.
You haven’t started to think about working ON your business instead of IN it.
You know you should, but you likely don’t know how to get there.
Hiring an OFS is how you get there.
And, I’ll take it a step further:
Hiring a full-time OFS (yes, it’s a stretch) is how you get there.
It will force you to start thinking like a CEO, looking at ways to make your business more efficient, productive, and profitable.
Let’s say you hired an OFS to do lead generation. You get them working well, so now you have an hour free.
Use that hour to assess how your OFS is currently doing and what else you can have them do.
Maybe they can do some data entry.
Maybe they can do something to improve the quality of your leads.
Maybe they can do some SEO writing?
Maybe they can do some admin work?
Maybe it’s time to hire someone else?
When you have a bunch of weeds in your face, it’s hard to see the forest.
It’s not easy.
The pathway isn’t obvious.
It took me years to get to this point. It took hiring a few people before I started to see the big picture. Before my business started to double every year.
You have to take a leap.
