The Muslim holidays Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha are regular holidays in the Philippines. However, due to tradition, the exact date of these holidays is usually confirmed a week before the actual holiday. In the Philippines, lunar sightings have to be confirmed before a final date can be set.

The date of Eid’l Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) was finally confirmed to be June 6 (this Friday), so the Philippine government declared that day a regular holiday.

We have updated our holiday calendar, so you will get updates if you’re subscribed.

Unless your Filipino virtual assistant is a practicing Muslim, it’s unlikely you’d be affected. Some might ask to take the day off to take advantage of the long weekend.

There’s also another holiday next Thursday. More on this to come next week.
