Last Thursday I had a bad crash on my mountain bike.

Yes, I had a helmet on. Still, I have a bad concussion.
There are about 25 minutes I can’t account for. I don’t remember crashing, I don’t remember my friend finding me. I don’t remember riding my bike down the rest of the trail. I don’t remember the drive home or getting in to or out of the car.
I remember coming to while laying on my bathroom floor (pictured above).
Doctor says I have an obvious concussion (I already knew this when my family told me I’d been asking the same questions over and over again), a fractured cheek bone, and a rupture in my sinus.
It’s Monday morning as I write this, I haven’t sat in front of a computer since last Wednesday.
What happened with my team of OFS?

Nothing!
They don’t even know I’m concussed. They just keep working and doing their jobs.
They have roles and responsibilities.
I learned 15 years ago that the work being done in my business was either me or someone else doing the work. As long as it was me the business was always limited, especially if anything bad ever happened.
I’ve worked to turn everything over to other people.
It didn’t happen all at once.
It was a process. Here a little. There a little more.
The only things I keep are
– decision making
– finalizing this newsletter
– creating solutions to problems (not all…other people do this too)
– recording my podcast
– some email (Julia does a lot of it now)
Where are you in this process?
Is there something you should give to someone else?
What if you have an accident? Does your business continue to function?
What could you do this week to make the business more future proof?
Don’t wait until you have an accident and it’s too late.

PS. Writing this was enough computer time for today. If there are mistakes…sorry…I’m still feeling the concussion effects.
