This news headline says part of what you need to know:
Typhoon Fung-wong blows away from the Philippines, leaving 8 dead and 1.4 million displaced
And this just days after typhoon Kalmaegi killed 220+ in the Philippines.
Across large parts of the Philippines power and internet are out.
Heavy rain has caused lots of flooding.
Trees and power lines are down. Streets are impassable.
Check on your people. Make sure they’re ok.
Search “Philippines Typhoon” if you’re interested in seeing more.
And yet…somehow…Mark (on my team in the Philippines), who sent me a photo of his street with a giant downed tree in the middle of it with power lines under the tree, with no power and no Internet and no running water at his house, sent in his daily report today with the work he accomplished today.
Despite me telling him to not worry about work, to clean up his house and take care of his family (his wife is sick) and serve in the community, he’s still getting important work done.
Filipinos are resilient. And amazing.
You’re unlikely to regret hiring someone or building your team in the Philippines.
