I’ve already discussed this in my previous newsletters. But just in case you haven’t received them or are a new subscriber, I want to remind you that your OFS might ask for time off on November 1, next Friday.

All Saints’ Day, November 1, is not a regular holiday; it’s a special holiday. But All Saints’ Day is a tradition celebrated all over the country.

There are many rituals associated with that day.
Many will travel home.
Schools will be off that day.
Due to the large number of people visiting their loved ones in the cemeteries, many cities will experience heavy traffic.

Add to this All Souls’ Day (Saturday, Nov 2) and Halloween (Thursday, Oct 31, not a holiday at all), and some may also request time to beat the rush and travel back home.

It’s not for Halloween, it’s for All Saints’ Day.

Although, Julia told me that the Philippines now celebrates Halloween. They have parties and trick-or-treating, but they do it in hotels, malls, and gated communities, not in their neighborhoods like we do here in the US.

Just keeping you up to date.
