As I’ve mentioned in previous newsletters, now (after New Year) is the best time to hire an Online Filipino Specialist.

So what should you prepare before hiring your OFS?

TRICK QUESTION.

Nothing!

Uploading your job post is the first crucial step. It’s actually the most challenging part; everything else after this will be easier. So, if you haven’t done it yet, post a job now!

Then, everyone seems to think that before hiring they need to have training done for their first task.

You don’t!

In fact, it’s so much easier to create training for someone after you’ve hired them than it is to create it before. After you’ve hired them you’ll realize that you can create training in small chunks. Training is so easy with Snagit.
You can get them to do small things and figure out what is working and what isn’t. You’ll then adjust your training accordingly.

If you try to create all your training and “get organized” ahead of time, you’ll teach things incorrectly but not realize it.
You’ll be wasting your time.

Hire first. Create training second.

I know it sounds backward…but it works.

Ok, so there actually is one thing you can do before hiring:
Prepare the first task.

Posting a job is so much easier if you know exactly what the first task will be.

Yes, you should hire for a role rather than a task.
But if you don’t have a clear idea for that role yet (many don’t), don’t worry about it.  Hire for the task.  The bigger picture of hiring for the role will come later.

Too many people get hung up on “getting organized” and making sure they understand the whole role and have all their training created and they never move forward. What a silly way to prevent your own growth.

The first (and most important) thing to hire an OFS is to post a job.

After that you’ll find things fall into place.
